Tom Vierra | Million Miles Club

May 28th, 2013

After three decades of carrying mail through the streets of Swansea placing it in boxes and dropping it in slots, battling wind, snow, rain and dogs, Tom Vierra parked his postal truck for the last time on Monday.

Vierra, 62, reached a double milestone: his retirement from the US Postal Service’s Swansea branch after 32 years of service. More than that, he was recognized for more than a million miles of safe driving during his career. Congratulations!

Million Mile Club

May 22nd, 2013

If anyone ever goes postal in Mountain View, California, there’s very little chance it will be David Tse.

Tse has been a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service for 31 years. “I love my job,” says Tse. “I like my job so much I can’t quit.”

As a result, he has been honored in San Francisco, California for driving an estimated one million miles each without having a preventable accident, will receive a plaque from the National Safety Council for his accomplishment, and will receive a lifetime membership in the Council’s ‘Million Mile Club.’
